Job Opening - Code Compliance Officer

The Richmond County Board of Supervisors has an immediate opening for a Code Compliance Officer.  Primary duties will be the inspection and enforcement of all environmental components of development and land use activities.  This includes, but is not limited to, uses and activities relating to zoning, erosion and sediment control, wetlands, storm-water management, Chesapeake Bay Act and litter control.

The ideal candidate should have knowledge of environmental laws, development practices, local land use and enforcement authorities.  Applicants must possess good public relations skill.  BS in environmental science, biology, earth sciences, planning or related fields preferred and or equivalent training/experience considered.  Valid current drivers license and transportation required.  Position requires working outdoors and moderately strenuous physical activity during all seasons.

Salary range for the position is $30,000 - $45,000 depending on experience and qualifications, with associated County benefits. Additional compensation with certification in Erosion and Sediment Control from Commonwealth of Virginia.  A six-month probationary period is required for the position.  National Criminal Background Check and DMV driving record report is a condition of employment.

Northern Neck Regional Jail Opportunities

Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC)

The Northern Neck Regional Jail is seeking candidates for a full time Certified Substance Abuse Counselor to provide counseling to incarcerated individuals to assist in understanding and coping with substance dependence. Duties include performing assessments of inmate needs; developing treatment plans; conducting group counseling sessions and/or substance abuse education classes; and performing individual counseling as needed. Qualifications, Education and Experience:  Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with CSAC, or National Certification or Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in substance abuse, psychology, sociology, social work, rehabilitation, criminal justice or closely related areas. Required-Certified Substance Abuse Certification or national certification.

Records Clerk
