Parks and Recreation

Richmond County is committed to ensuring free and open access to our County's lands and waterways. Our County has several recreational access points that provide for a myriad of activities, including hiking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, boating, bird watching, etc. The Warsaw Town Park, located in the heart of Warsaw, allows for you to bring the kids and family and enjoy playground equipment, walking trails, and various festivals and activities year round.

Richmond County also plays host to three U.S. Wildlife Refuges that not only protect and showcase our natural environment and wildlife, they also allow for bird watching activities, miles of trails, etc. Our newly updated Little League fields and Fairgrounds provide fun all throughout the summer.

We welcome you to enjoy the natural beauty that Richmond County has to offer.

Totuskey Public Landing (left)-Located off of State Route 3, turn right onto Route 705 if you’re leaving from Warsaw.

U.S. Refuge Locations

Richmond County is home to three U.S. Fish & Wildlife Refuges- Laurel Grove Road, Naylor’s Beach Road and Coates Lane.  

Town & County Parks 

The Warsaw Town Park offers an array of amenities to bring the family out for a fun evening.

The Richmond County Fairgrounds and Little League Fields offer summertime fun with games, the historic Richmond County Fair, fireworks, performances and so much more. 

 
 

Richmond County Museum

Located in the Old Jail (1872) on the Courthouse Green, we collect, preserve and tell the story of Richmond County from prehistoric times to the present.  Permanent and Special Exhibits include Rappahannock Indians of Richmond County, Moore Fauntleroy, founder of Old Rappahannock County, Declaration of Independence Signer Francis Lightfoot Lee, February Black History Month, and First Sunday in December Holiday Tree of Love Illumination.

Our Gift Shop includes books and other items related to Richmond County and the Northern Neck.

The museum is classified as a Richmond County Tourist Information Center and is a member of Virginia Association of Museums and the Northern Neck Tourism Council.

From Washington, D.C.

Travel on I-95 South. Take Exit 126 for Route 1/Route 17 South. Turn right onto Jefferson Davis Highway following the exit ramp. Turn left onto Route 17 South. Follow Route 17 South for about 46 miles. Turn left onto Queen Street. Follow Route 360 East for about 7 miles. Turn right into Court Circle.

From Richmond, VA

Travel on I-64 East. Take Exit 192 and merge onto Route 360 East. Follow Route 360 East for approximately 41 miles. Continue through Route 17 North. Turn right onto Queen Street. Follow Route 360 East for about 7 miles. Turn right into Court Circle.

From Virginia Beach, VA

Travel on I-64 West. Take Exit 258B and merge into Route 17 North. Follow Route 17 North for approximately 70 miles. Turn right onto Queen Street. Follow Route 360 East for about 7 miles. Turn right into Court Circle.
