1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
Saturday, April 22, 2017, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
RCC Warsaw Lecture Hall (FREE PROGRAM)
The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program is designed to help caregivers prepare children for one of life's big milestones: Kindergarten.
Studies have shown that families who start reading aloud to their children at birth help strengthen their language skills and build their vocabulary.
How does it work: Any child who hasn't entered kindergarten yet is eligible for the program, including infants. Sign your child up at the Richmond County Public Library and receive a packet of information with reading logs and a FREE Scholastic Children Book.
Speakers will be Sara Carroll, Cuddlebugs Child Development Center; Quitina Mitchell, Teacher with Virginia Head Start Association; Dan Ream, Library Coordinator
