The Richmond County Department of Social Services provides investigation and/or assessment of reports of suspected child abuse and neglect and the coordination of services and resources to prevent its recurrence.

April is recognized in the United States as Child Abuse Prevention Month. With this month-long observance, communities and organizations raise awareness around the critical issue of child abuse and neglect and educate the public on prevention.
