The Clerk of the General District Court works with the General District Court Judge and processes and maintains all records and dockets for traffic cases, criminal cases, and holds preliminary hearings in felony cases and civil suits not exceeding $25,000. The Clerk is also responsible for reporting mandatory data to Criminal Records and the Division of Motor Vehicles.
The Clerk of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court works with the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court Judge and processes and maintains all records (both public and confidential, when involving a minor) pertaining to children, foster care, adults accused of child abuse or neglect, custody, support, visitation, spousal abuse, and crimes involving certain members of a family or persons living together as household members.
