The Clerk of the Circuit Court has two (2) principal duties: maintaining case dockets and storing official records that date back to 1692.  The Clerk also keeps track of all jury information for the Circuit Court and multi-jurisdictional grand jury.  By protecting and maintaining many different permanent records (deeds, wills, judgments, for example), the Clerk provides a vital service for citizens to protect their property rights. The Clerk of Circuit Court also processes passport applications.
