According to the Richmond County Dog Ordinance, adopted May 1962, all dogs in Richmond County shall wear a collar containing the county dog license tag and the owner’s name and address. The Richmond County Treasurer’s Office begins selling dog tags on November 1st of each year. Every dog owner must purchase a dog tag for his or her pet by January 31st of that following year.  A copy of your dog’s current rabies vaccination certificate must be presented before any tags will be issued.

Cost of Tags:

• Single Dog (ages 4 months and up): $5/tag
• Kennel (at least 4 dogs ages 4 months and up): $20
