Located in the Old Jail (1872) on the Courthouse Green, we collect, preserve and tell the story of Richmond County from prehistoric times to the present.  Permanent and Special Exhibits include Rappahannock Indians of Richmond County, Moore Fauntleroy, founder of Old Rappahannock County, Declaration of Independence Signer Francis Lightfoot Lee, February Black History Month, and First Sunday in December Holiday Tree of Love Illumination.

Our Gift Shop includes books and other items related to Richmond County and the Northern Neck.

The museum is classified as a Richmond County Tourist Information Center and is a member of Virginia Association of Museums and the Northern Neck Tourism Council.
